We’re Alina and Steve, the proud owners of ASL Vets. We opened our doors in Billericay on January 29, 2024, with a passion for providing exceptional, affordable veterinary care to our furry friends.

Our Team

Alina

Head Veterinary Surgeon, DVM MRCVS

Alina is a passionate veterinary surgeon with over 14 years of experience in small animal care. She graduated in 2010 and has since gained extensive experience in a variety of settings, including first opinion practices, referral and as a clinical director. Alina is a skilled surgeon and has a particular interest in ultrasound. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to her patients and their families.

James

Veterinary Surgeon Bvsc (Hons) MRCVS Cert SAS

James is a highly experienced Orthopaedic and Soft tissue veterinary surgeon who graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 2003. He holds a Certificate in Small Animal Surgery, which he obtained in 2009. In 2013 James started to offer peripatetic surgical referrals in London. James now cover over 80 veterinary practices across London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Suffolk and Kent. To date James has completed over 5000 TPLO surgeries.

Charlotte

Veterinary Surgeon

Charlotte is a skilled Veterinary Surgeon at ASL Vets, dedicated to delivering expert medical care with compassion. Graduating from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, she combines surgical precision with a calm professionalism to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their owners.

Steve

Practice Manager

Steve is a seasoned logistics and distribution expert with a proven track record of success in the industry. With extensive experience working for multinational blue-chip companies, he has a deep understanding of complex supply chain operations. Steve specializes in setting up and optimizing distribution networks across the UK, ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods. Steve now looks after the day to day running of the Billericay practice.

Nikki

Head Veterinary Nurse
Nikki is a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Nurse who has been caring for animals since qualifying in 2000. Her career has spanned a variety of veterinary settings, including busy general practices and specialist referral centers. This diverse experience has provided Nikki with a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of animal health and welfare. She is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient and is a valuable member of the team.

Anaiya

Student Veterinary Nurse

Anaiya is an aspiring veterinary nurse with a strong passion for animal welfare. She is currently studying to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse and is gaining practical experience at ASL Vets. Anaiya is dedicated to providing compassionate care to animals and is excited to contribute to the veterinary field.

Louise

Veterinary Care Assistant

Louise is currently working as a Veterinary Care Assistant while completing her Veterinary Care Support apprenticeship, combining her love for animals with hands-on care. Passionate and attentive, she’s building practical skills while making a meaningful difference to patients and their owners.

Alana

Ward Assistant

Alana is a trusted Ward Assistant at ASL Vets, known for her calm approach and practical support across daily patient care. With a strong sense of empathy and attention to detail, she helps create a smooth, reassuring environment for both animals and the team around her.

Abby

Ward Assistant
Abby brings quiet strength and gentle precision to the heart of ASL Vets. As Ward Assistant, she supports patients with calm empathy, keeps procedures flowing smoothly, and helps uphold the highest clinical standards. Her presence is steady, her care unwavering, making Abby an essential part of daily life at the practice.

Alina and Steve, both passionate animal lovers, joined forces in 2023 to create ASL Vets. Their shared vision was to provide exceptional veterinary care in a modern, well-equipped practice. They found the perfect location in Billericay, a town with special meaning to both of them. Steve, with his background in logistics and distribution, took the lead on the practice’s design and refurbishment. The result is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest technology and medical equipment, including the ability to handle all emergencies on-site.

ASL Vets is a beloved part of the Billericay community, dedicated to providing affordable, comprehensive care for pets and supporting local charities. We work with local schools to support work experience and students working towards their Duke of Edinburgh award. We’re also proud to support the next generation of veterinary surgeons and nurses by being an RCVS registered training practice and also a RCVS Graduate Development Practice.
